PPMAS Mission statement

Passion for Paws Memorial Animal Shelter (PPMAS) is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded by Patsy Vigil Scherrer and her husband, Michael, located in Nixon, Texas. The shelter offers a chance for unwanted, neglected, and stray dogs and puppies to be adopted into forever homes. In August 2013 the shelter became reality, starting out as a fenced in 4 kennel structure. In July of 2019, funding allowed the move to a new location just south on Rancho Road. A metal building on a slab is now our home. With ongoing fund raising and many generous donations the new shelter will soon be operational.

A LITTLE ABOUT THE SHELTER

donate

  1. to show a respect and regard for unwanted, neglected and stray dogs within the city of Nixon that will  benefit the city and animal control ordinance;
  2. To serve as an example to young people in demonstrating a caring love for all living creatures and by giving them an opportunity to take part in this service to their community;
  3. To promote and encourage a sterilization program for dogs and cats that will lessen the need for a shelter and eliminate the practice of euthanizing animals

Donating is more than just time or money, it's peace of mind. Now you can help even the smallest animal.

At the present time we are in need of cash donations to pay for the monthly bills required to maintain the animal shelter. If you would like to help, go to the Contact Us page and submit a message to Patsy or give her a call. Or you can click on the "More" button below and donate through Paypal.
